In this article done by the Rolling Stone, it quotes how Ariana wants to drop music as fast as the rappers or the boys do. She wants to have the freedom to sing, write, talk to her fans as much as she wants, just as her male counterparts do in the music industry.
So that's what she did.
Ariana decided that she wanted to not just keep up with the boys, but also break some world records along the way in the music industry. She broke the most streams in 24 hours of a release of a song on Spotify with 7 rings at 15 million streams and had the most streams in a week on Spotify with Sweetener with 109 million streams.
Ariana Grande started this spontaneous releasing of singles starting with "thank u, next." She found music as a way to cope with the tragic loss of her ex-boyfriend, Mac Miller, and the break-off of her engagement with Pete Davidson. She shows the strength and independence every woman has deep inside of her to be completely content and okay without a man in her life. She shows how she uses music as a way to cope with her tragedies and a way to rebuild herself as a woman. She shows how successful and happy she can be through self-love, inner growth, spreading positivity, and achieving her dreams. She also shows how successful one can be as a solo female artist without the affiliation of a popular male artist to credit for her fame or achievements. Ariana is showing her vulnerability by being extremely open and honest about the very relevant events occurring in her life. She also stepping outside of her comfort zone and showing her versatility from pop to hip-hop within God is a Woman and 7 Rings.
Ariana also is about to release her next album "thank u, next" in February, just months after releasing her last album "Sweetener."
Grande she says it is okay to “drop a record on a Saturday night because you feel like it, and because your heart’s going to explode if you don’t."I don’t want to do what people tell me to do, I don’t want to conform to the pop star agenda. I want to do it on my own terms from now on. If I want to tour two albums at once, I’m going to tour two albums at once. If I want to drop a third album while I’m on tour [in 2019], I’ll do that too!”
Females everywhere should look to Ariana for inspiration to realize that they can find happiness, success, and love within themselves, their friends, and their achievements. She also shows that one should not let the social constructions of gender scare one from reaching their fullest potential. Ariana paid no attention to the fact that most female pop artists do not drop singles as rapidly and spontaneously as she does. However, by doing what male rappers do, she is creating incredible success for herself and record-breaking history within the music industry. She is relaying the positive message to females that the world cannot oppress us if we do not let it. All we need is self-love, a good support group of family and friends, and the confidence to achieve anything as a female in this patriarchy.
